Blue and brown bathroom

My hall bathroom is long and narrow.

I bought a creme and chocolate shower curtain and had it monogramed with my initial.

My problem is bringing it all together.

My floor is taupe and white tiles.

I have a vanity with off white marble. Painting the vanity is an option. I love the blue color with the chocolate but cannot get it all together.

The walls are off white. The faucets are chrome and I have black lights over a large mirrow. Two sink vanity.

Any ideas?

Accessories may be the answer?

Hello Jane

Your bathroom sounds lovely, and I'm sure you are well on the way to pulling it all together into a luxury bathroom you can be proud of.

Chocolate, blue and cream sounds a beautiful color scheme - very sophisticated!

As far as pulling it all together goes, do check whether your creams and off-whites are all similar tones - that is, try not to mix creamy-whites with grey or blue whites (warm whites mixing with cold whites) as it will immediately create a basic confusion with your decorating scheme.

With creams and chocolate I think a warm color palette is the way to go, and blue (although a cold color) would go very nicely as an 'accent' color for accessories.

Adding more accessories in shades of your chosen colors adds to the color scheme as a whole, and should add to the effect in your room as a whole. Think about towels, bath and shower mats, plants (?) and pictures, mirror frames etc, that can all add to your chosen scheme.

You may even fancy putting some color on the walls too (but do consider the size of your room, and if size or darkness are likely to be an issue, keep to paler shades).

I hope this has given you some ideas of how you can add to your room to complete the effect.

What color on the walls? Since it is long and narrow what about a taupe color?

Hi

A taupe would go beautifully well with the chocolate, taupe and creams, also the blue. Take care to get a tester pot and color match with other elements in the room.

As your room is long and narrow, you will get a feeling of more space if you stick to paler colors on the long narrow walls. A deeper, darker color on the end walls will also help to effectively 'even out' the room proportions.

Any combination of creams, taupes (lighter and darker shades) and chocolate may help you to achieve the right effect.
