I need HELP with this space!

Living Room

I am moving into to this place in less than a month and I want to do something special with this space...but I have no idea how to make the most of it.

Any ideas for paint colours and decorating ideas would be most appreciated!

Interior Design Inspirations...

Hi Leigh

Your new home looks great - a nice light space with plenty of opportunities to make it your own...

My first advice, although you may be keen to start, and make your own mark on your new home, would be not to be too hasty to make any decisions with your interior design...

It can be a good idea to live in your new home a little while first, get used to it, how it feels and how you want to use the space... see how it feels at different times of the day, and in different weather conditions/times of the year.

A good place to start, for getting inspiration, and starting the whole design process is this easy how to guide

You may also want to take some ideas from this page on long thin rooms, as I notice your room does appear to be this shape:

I hope these ideas help you get started with this great blank canvas, and help you get some inspiration for the colors and designs that suit you and the space.

Narrow room ideas

I might consider a wall to wall, ceiling to floor drapery in a bright, dramatic print and pull the accessory colors from it. Another would be to paint the FP wall in a very bold color.

And try to do some soft lighting in the corners. I might also furnish it with nothing angular if it could be oval or circular.
