Plan 3D - Home Design Web Tool

This is my own personal favorite 3D interior design software - you actually use it online.

It is a very inexpensive web programme, that makes it really easy for you to get professional-looking layout plans that you can use in all your interior design projects.

You can add all kinds of furniture and accessories to get the exact look you want, then view in perspective mode to get a really useful, realistic view of your virtual home.

It is great fun to play around with, and designed specially for people who want to interior design it themselves - why not try it out on your current interior design project ...

This is a fun and useable product - comes as a DVD-ROM or as a downloadable version.

Build up a complete visual reference of your interior design project - you can even choose from over 6,000 real-life brand-name appliances, accessories and other products for a really helpful and realistic look.

You use a photo of your own home to start with, and can add photos or 'swatches' from other websites to get a completely customised design.

User-friendly and fun!

A good product, well-priced and with plenty if useful features.

Import photos of your own home, use sample plans, or create your own from scratch. Use the special 'Green design' section for a more eco-friendly home. 3D visualisations.

Uses real-life brand-name products to help you choose, but these don't include quite so numerous and varied brands for free, as some of the other products.

This does take some time to learn if you are not already familiar with CAD programs, and the designs still take quite a long time to build up. There is free tech support which you may find helpful if you get stuck.

Overall a good, thorough product with plenty of features - but be prepared to put the time in!

Quite an expensive product, but it is of a professional interior design software standard.

As the name suggests, this program does feature more than interior design (architecture) but of course interior design decisions are well catered for, amd the whole program is very comprehensive.

Over 7,000 stock library items you can use, simple house plans and templates, or create your own.

Design in 2D, or easy 3D, with a few clicks, for great visualisation.

As this is a professional standard product, do expect to invest some time to learn the program (unless you are already familiar with architectural CAD) but the help tutorials are actually very helpful and easy to follow.

A great, comprehensive product for professional standard designs.

A good, budget product for you to interior design your home. All the basic functions you need, including 3D visualisation for your design.

Unfortunately, not very user friendly.

My best recommendation is actually a free tool - you use it online to create floor plans which you can then use to take a 'snapshot' to see the 3D view.
