What to put on wall above TV?

by Jan
(Macon, GA)

We just got a flat screen TV. It sits on top of a dark wood TV stand with glass doors. The wall above the TV needs something but nothing I've tried looks right.

Previously we had an entertainment center with photos and a large birdhouse on top.

a few ideas...
by: Charlotte

Hi Jan

I'm thinking you have quite a number of options here:

You may find in time that you get used to the wall arrangement as it is, it may just look bare to you because you aren't used to it at the moment.

You could put up a high shelf, with books or ornaments.

You could put up lots more pictures above and to the side of your new TV. Or a row of small pictures across the top?

You could position your cabinet and TV centrally along the wall, as you may then find this arrangement easier to live with/work with.

You could make the TV wall a 'feature wall' with a different color paint, or a beautifully patterned wallpaper.

Many flat screen TVs are, these days, actually designed to be hung on the wall - and actually are positioned in the room like pictures. Could the TV hang above the cabinet? Then you could place some attractive accessory actually on the cabinet, below the TV.

I hope that has given you some more ideas...

I hope you can find a way of arranging your new TV that suits you - and enjoy watching it.

Best wishes
Charlotte
